Monaco at Wal-Mart on a Friday night? |
|
|
So it’s been 2 weeks
since I ordered my extremely sick 1/8th scale
gas R/C Truggy. It finally arrived today in what
appears to be perfect order. Of course it has
to be broken in to be run etc etc etc. I believe
I was told I needed to get 4 AA batteries to power
the thing. Much to my suprise it clearly states
on the box it requires 12 AA batteries. The gentleman
at the hobby place gladly pointed to the 4 little
AA battery graphics, while I pointed to the x12
that was written beside them. |
He
rests his case. On the way home, I decided it
was time to check out Wal-Mart for some great
deals on fast rechargeable batteries. I was comparing
energizer and some other brands, when I realized
this is probably going to be used for longer periods
of time, so I shouldn’t cheap out. I picked
up some sick Rayovac Hybrid batteries. 14 AA and
2 AAA as well as the charger set me back $47 and
change. Not a bad deal. On my way to the self
serve checkout (because ppl in Bolton like human
interaction so much, they set up like 9 of those
stations) I noticed a familiar face. It was the
man, Tony Monaco himself. I always wondered if
he was still as tall as the last time I’ve
seen him. He didn’t opt to use the self
checkout, altho it would have been much faster.
After all he is a personable guy, he probably
enjoyed chatting it up with the old lady behind
the till. |
 |
Anyways, what drives
a guy like Tony Monaco to Wal-Mart on
a friday night at 11pm? Are we getting
too busy during the week? Is he trying
to remain incognito from the fans? I fear
I might never find out… |
